CHARA'S bio
Chara started work at Toronto City Mission as a Summer Intern at Sonshine Day Camp followed by a Year Long Internship after finishing her undergrad. Upon completing her teaching degree, Chara returned to TCM in 2013 to teach at the Role Model Moms program in Victoria Village.
Chara hopes that these moms will take steps towards letting God be a part of their life story and pursue the dreams that He has placed in their hearts and encourage future generations to do the same.
This semester alone many were in very hopeless situations such as: refugees who are experiencing depression as they await permanent residency; women living in shelters because they can’t afford rent; a woman whose partner was shot and killed within the last year; a woman with throat cancer; a women whose husband bands her from pursuing education, yet sneaks to my class each day…
