School is out for summer!

Role Model Moms had another great semester exploring all kinds of new experiences. They wrote their exams and will hear back in the summer on how well they did.

Our class also partnered with University of Toronto in May at an information workshop for post-secondary studies. U of T and Hart House invited the Role Model Moms to a luncheon in May and brought together many of the different departments that can help full time students and full time mothers be successful. Our moms learned about a transition year for mature students, tuition and grant funding help, tutoring and technology support, as well as the open invitation by everyone on staff and studying at U of T to join them! Over and over, they heard the message that a post secondary education from any institution is achievable and available for EVERYONE, as long as you are willing to work hard.

It certainly was encouraging not only for our moms, but for their children who were also invited to the event. They were able to play, do crafts, and eat lunch in the beautiful Hart House under the careful watch of Camp U of T counsellors.

It is a blessing to know that moms who are struggling are not forgotten in Toronto. It is a blessing to meet people who are willing to take time, energy, and finances to support these women who have so little resources at their disposal. We are excited to see how God will nurture the seeds of hope that were planted that day!
