Communications Coordinator
Partner Relations Coordinator: Full Time (24-32 hours to start)
Toronto City Mission (TCM) is a Christian based charitable organization that focuses on building loving relationships to bring hope to children and families impacted by poverty. We help children, youth, and adults rise above poverty by providing preventative programs, building relationships, and raising leaders. Our programs are designed to equip them to make wise choices about school, friends, relationships, work, and the future.
Objective
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating all TCM’s external communication materials including; newsletters, direct mail appeals, and other publications. This person also creates and maintains an up-to-date website and social media presence for TCM. Working closely with the Development Team, the Communications Coordinator assists in stewardship and event planning support.
Reports directly to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication strategies that align with TCM's goals and objectives
Coordinate content for various communication channels such as newsletters, blogs, and email campaigns
Maintaining the content calendar and ensuring content are published regularly and on time
Use graphic design software to create visual assets that communicate brand messaging
Create and manage social media content (text, images, and videos) that align with TCM's brand
Analyzing and reporting social media analytics and developing content strategies accordingly
Researching, planning, and preparing topics for written, graphic, and video content that is informative, engaging, and can gain more followers on social media platforms
Respond to questions, complaints, etc., on social media channels
Monitor social media channels for unusual activity
Coordinate with Partner Relations Coordinator to promote events and engagement
With the Executive Director, develop and manage communication budgets and timelines
Keep Executive Director informed of any challenges and opportunities regarding communications
Ensure the privacy of program participants
Additional related duties as required
Requirements:
2 years of experience working in public relations or social media role
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in communications, social media, public relations or marketing
Proficient in Google Suite
Experience working on social media marketing campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
Experience using design and media editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, Canva) is required
Track record of identifying target audiences and developing social media content that engages, informs, and motivates is an asset
Experience using social media tools and project management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suites) is required
Excellent understanding of website and analytics tools is required
Experience with web design and publishing and the use of content management systems (e.g., Squarespace) is required
Experience leading and managing SEO campaigns is an asset
Previous experience in graphic design is an advantage
Comfortable with programs for marketing materials (e.g. Constant Contact or Mail Chimp)
Strong personal spiritual life and commitment to Jesus Christ
Active participation in a local church body
Confidence in relational ministry

Working Conditions:
May entail working in high-stress environments (e.g. when managing several events simultaneously)
Some travel may be required (within the greater Toronto area)
Overtime and hours outside of typical working schedule may be required
Compensation
Salary plus benefits is based on a faith support model. A successful applicant will be required to commit to raising 100% of his/her salary and gather a personal support team.
