In the past few months God has reminded me how important history is. It is when we look back, we see how God has been at work and how He has been faithful to His character. God doesn't react to what we do, He already knows and has a planned laid out for us (Jeremiah 29:11). God didn't send Christ to us because "uh-oh" we messed up, but because it was already ordained by the hands of God. All through the Old Testament, we see how God was pointing His people to the coming Messiah. Even before the world was created (Ephesians 1:4) we were chosen to be called His children.
Recently, Elita, one of our Outreach Workers lead us in a time of reflection where we took time to look back on where we saw God working through TCM this past year. It was wonderful to see the many things that God has blessed us with and also to recognize that even during times of difficulty, God was present and using those trials to point us back to His sovereignty. This time also pushed us to take a step back to see what God was saying to us this past year and where He is leading us, before we stepped ahead in planning for the next year. We still have a lot of learning to do but I'm so thankful that our team is being more intentional about listening to what God is calling us to do and to respond in obedience.
