Please forgive me…

Verse: Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Devotion:
When coming to faith, we understand that Christ had died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We take an inventory of past sins and offer them up to God. The guilt and shame that we carry will fall away and we experience the incredible feeling of a weight being lifted off our shoulders.

However, as we grow in our faith, we continue to wrestle with temptation to sin, it may be an unhealthy addiction, laziness, or negative thoughts. We remember that we are all fallen people, but more importantly, that Christ forgives all our sins: past; present; and future. It is only by God’s grace and mercy that we are forgiven and this sinner responds with thanks and praise! We no longer need to live in fear of future sins.

Thought: What do I need to ask for forgiveness for so that I can live in God’s grace and mercy? Find comfort in knowing that as we walk more closely with the Lord, temptation to sin will fall away.
