TCM Tidbit #7

The Dorcas Fund was our clothing department that went hand in hand with our house-to-house Mission work.  At all seasons of the year, and especially in winter, families were found unable, through sickness, bereavement, or other causes to provide a sufficiency of suitable clothing for themselves or the children, and frequently the children were prevented, on this account, from attending both day and Sunday school.  Several churches in the city and in the country contributed goods for this purpose.  In 1900, we distributed 3,351 garments, blankets, mattressess, etc.
