Dear Friend,

Greetings from TCM! As you may know, summer is just around the corner, and for approximately 133,000 children and youth in the city that live in poverty*, many coming from low-income families, it can be a time of loneliness and isolation.

But at TCM, our summer day camp provides children with the opportunity to build relationships, be active, and most importantly, learn about God's abounding love for them.

Every year, we strive to make TCM’s Sonshine Day Camp available to as many children as possible, regardless of their financial situation. For seven full weeks in the summer, we provide moments of connection between children of similar ages through outdoor activities, music, day trips, Bible stories, and meaningful conversation. However, we need your help to get as many children to camp as possible.

Last year, a boy named Soloman** attended our summer camp for the first time. Soloman had difficulty communicating and relating with others, as English was not his first language. He was shy and unresponsive, but as the weeks went on, he started to respond with nods, then single-word answers, and by the end of camp in full-blown conversation. He played soccer, improved his English and ability to speak with confidence, and most importantly, learned about the love of Jesus for children just like him.

On the last day of camp, Soloman’s father came to pick him up and shared his sincere thanks to the team for the summer they spent with Soloman. His father and mother noticed shifts in their son, including his ability to communicate more openly at home, and he would even wake his mother up on Saturday mornings just to ask her to drive him to camp. She said that our camp had changed his life and that meant the world to her.

Stories like Soloman’s are the reason why we do what we do at TCM, and we believe that every child deserves the same opportunity to experience God's love and grace in their lives. This is where you come in. We are seeking your support to help us raise the necessary funds to send more children like Soloman to camp this summer.

For $230, you can send one child to camp at no cost to them. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in the life of a child as they receive the gifts of belonging, confidence, and faith.

At TCM, it is our joy to be able to give children the opportunity to learn about the saving love of Christ Jesus. It is your support and prayers that bring encouragement and hope to families in need. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children who need it the most.

In His Service,

Elliott Shin
Executive Director
